Great Falls, Montana has a rich culture of the arts.

Its public-school music programs have tremendous support from the district and community at large, and both high schools have incredible choral programs. Lynn noticed that many former students resided in Great Falls, yet they no longer sang in a choir. After reaching out to former students, many expressed their longing to once again participate in a choral community that performs a varied repertoire of high-level choral music. Through the support of colleagues, friends, and former students, Lynn decided to launch the Electric City Chorale in the fall of 2023.

In its first year, the Chorale had tremendous success. The choir’s first three programs consisted of high-quality choral music ranging from Renaissance polyphony to Romantic masterpieces, infused with all manner of styles from the present day. Most importantly, a culture was growing. The Electric City Chorale is a community of musicians who are united in their vision of creating great performances that engage and inspire community and chorus members alike.

Seeing this positive culture take root, Lynn gathered a board and the Electric City Choral Union was born. Founded in 2025, the ECCU is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that seeks to bring excellence in choral music to Great Falls.

The Electric City Choral Union consists of the Electric City Chorale, and in September 2025 we will launch a children’s choir that will be directed by Jenn Cantley. It has been many years since Great Falls had a children’s choir and we are excited to provide this opportunity for the young people in our community.
